Fang Red-beds Fm
Type Locality and Naming
NW Thailand, north of Mae Ping Fault. Type locality: locally exposed along the Chiang Mai – Fang Highway (Route 107) about 40 km south of Fang in northern Chiang Mai Province.

Lithology and Thickness
Thick conglomerate and interbedded conglomeratic sandstone grading to sandstone and shale. The conglomerate is well-sorted consisting of rounded to sub-rounded pebbles of chert, quartzite, slate and some limestone. Thickness: 200 m
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The chert clasts are probably derived from the Fang Chert, which is unconformably overlain by the Fang Red-beds.
